Tyler passed away peacefully at 9:30 this morning in the arms of his mother with his father at his feet. He is at peace with God in heaven. When Tyler was 2 years and 4 months, a large abdominal mass was found on his right kidney after having flu like symptoms. They told us it was probably a Wilms tumor and he had surgery 2 days later to remove it. We were 5 weeks into treatment under the Wilms tumor Stage 3 protocol when we got the call that the Wilms Tumor Study Group changed the diagnosis to Rhabdoid Tumor of the Kidney. Tyler lives on a farm in Illinois and loves tractors, construction equipment, airplanes and trains. He likes Mickey Mouse and his favorite TV show is Rolie Polie Olie. |
